On January 13th, the Inauguration Ceremony for the Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom was held in Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College (NBCBC), Copenhagen, Denmark, The Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom was jointly established by KUST and NBCBC, which is the first Confucius classroom established by KUST in Nordic region and the only Confucius classroom that has been established up till now by Yunnan Province in Europe.
Anya Eskildsen, Chief Executive Officer of NBCBC and Chair of Confucius Classroom Council of NBCBC, Prof. ZHANG Yingjie, Chair of the University Committee, KUST and Chair of the Confucius Classroom Council of KUST, DENG Liming, First Secretary in Educational and Cultural Section of Embassy of China to the Kingdom of Denmark, CAO Boyi, the ex-consul general of Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai, Chairman of Danish Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the principal of Chinese School, board directors of the Confucius Classroom Council and other officers, with a total of 80 people, attended the ceremony.
ChairZHANGYingjie delivered a speech, stressingthat the establishment of the Business Confucius Classroom is thecrystallization ofsuccessful cooperation between the two universities and the fruit and achievement of increasingly strengthened people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Denmark. She expected that KUST and NBCBC will work jointly and make more achievements in more fields and create a better tomorrow for further and deeper cooperation between the two universities.Chief Executive Officer Anya Eskildssen said in her speech that the Business Confucius Classroom will provide good Chinese learning opportunity for local Danish people wishing to study the Chinese language and culture, which will strengthen communication and cooperation in language, culture, educational research and manyother fields between two countries. Mr. DEND Mingli said in his speech that the friendship between Danes and Chinese has a long history that could be traced back to ancient times. The Confucius Classroom will not only offer Chinese learning opportunity for students and teachers in NBCBC but also for the people in Copenhagen. He hopes that the Confucius Classroom will take full advantages of the two universities and meet the needs of Danish people in learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture.
Atthe Inauguration Ceremony, JIE Jun, Dean of the Confucius Classroom from KUST, and Charlotte Forsberg,Executive Vice President of NBCBC read out respectively in Chinese and English the congratulatory letter signed by ZHAO Guocheng, Deputy Director-general of the Confucius Institute Headquarters. ZHAO expressed congratulations of the CI Headquarters on the establishment of the Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom and the expectation of development of the Confucius Classroom.Chief Executive Officer Anya Eskildsen and Chair ZHANG Yingjie unveiled the nameplate for the Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom, and enjoyed the wonderful performance for the ceremony byKristin Lomholt, a Danish well-known singer.
In the afternoon, the firstboardmeeting of theFirstCouncil of the CopenhagenBusiness ConfuciusClassroom was held in the conference room ofNBCBC. Themeeting waspresided by Anne Hyrup, vice President ofNBCBC. Chair ZHANG Yingjie and other board members attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the board members reviewed and signed Implementation Agreement for Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom at Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College,Regulation for Board of Directors Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom at Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College, Denmark,and Personnel Appointment for Directors of Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom.The meeting heard and deliberated and approvedReport on Preparations for Start-up of the Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom on October 2019,The 2020 Activity Plan of Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom, and The Budget Report Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom.
Chair ZHANG Yingjie expressed her sincere gratitude on behalf of KUST to NBCBC leaders, directors of the Board,deans of the Business Confucius Classroom from KUST and NBCBC and other staff members for their contributions to the establishmentofthe ConfuciusClassroom. She hoped that the ConfuciusClassroomwill be running smoothly andbecome the new platform for thebettercommunicationbetween Chinesepeopleand Danish people.
The councilmeetinghas set the direction, goals and plans for the development of the Copenhagen Business ConfuciusClassroom, laying a good foundation for the rapid developmentof the Confucius Classroom.
